LUNDU 5 Ogos – Kerajaan negeri telah meluluskan peruntukan berjumlah RM10 juta untuk membangunkan sebuah Pusat Kecemerlangan Teknikal Sarawak (CENTEXS) Kampus Lundu di sini.
Ketua Menteri, Tan Sri Adenan Satem berkata, pembangunan pusat teknikal pertama di negeri ini amat penting dalam usaha mentransformasikan bidang kemahiran teknikal dan vokasional di Sarawak.
Beliau berkata, pusat teknikal tersebut menawarkan program perantis dan kursus latihan bagi kemahiran yang berkaitan dengan keperluan sektor industri di negeri ini.
“Saya mahu kerja-kerja pembinaan pusat ini dimulakan esok (hari ini) kerana saya ingin melihat ia siap mengikut jadual ditetapkan pada tahun hadapan,” katanya dalam ucapan semasa merasmikan Majlis Pecah Tanah CENTEXS Kampus Lundu semalam.
Mengulas lanjut, Adenan memberitahu, Sarawak yang kini dalam proses menjadi sebuah negeri perindustrian dan maju amat memerlukan tenaga kerja berkemahiran tinggi.
Katanya, CENTEXS merupakan landasan terbaik bagi menampung lonjakan permintaan pekerja mahir dalam pelbagai bidang industri di negeri ini.
“Inilah yang kita (kerajaan negeri) mahu lihat iaitu menghasilkan tenaga kerja yang berkemahiran tinggi selepas mereka (pelatih CENTEX) tamat pengajian kelak,” katanya.
Dalam pada itu, Adenan turut merakamkan penghargaan kepada Petronas kerana memperuntukkan dana sebanyak RM14 juta bagi tujuan pembangunan pendidikan di daerah ini.
Setakat ini, seramai 60 pelatih telah mendaftar dan akan memulakan sesi pembelajaran di CENTEXS Kampus Lundu bermula September depan.
Kesemua mereka akan ditempatkan di bangunan lama Pejabat Daerah Lundu di sini, sementara menunggu kampus tetap itu siap sepenuhnya.

In line with the Sarawak State development strategy, CENTEXS has identified its part to support the Digital Economy in talent development by establishing the Digital Training Unit in June 2017.
CENTEXS Digital Training Unit focus is on the development of technical manpower that will create sufficient digital skills and human resource required for the Sarawak Digital Economy. In March 2019, the Chief Minister of Sarawak, has announced the establishment of the Digital Academy.
The Digital Academy is envisioned to play a crucial role in producing digital talent pool to the industry. The Academy is an Industry relevant education program, focusing on reskilling and upskilling training, targeting school leavers, university graduates and industry employees.
